The Daily Post Prompt: Greetings, Stranger

Today’s Daily Prompt from The Daily Post:

Greetings, Stranger

You’re sitting at a café when a stranger approaches you. This person asks what your name is, and, for some reason, you reply. The stranger nods, “I’ve been looking for you.” What happens next?

I’m not big on writing, this will be a real challenge for me.

I give him a quizzical look.  Why would someone I have never seen be looking for me?  My mind is racing, should I make him go away?  Should I ask him to sit down? Oh hell, I can’t shew him away without finding out why he’s looking for me.  He’s tall, blonde, muscular.  And his eyes are the most beautiful blue, green and grey color that I have ever seen.

“Would you like to sit down?”  As he’s pulling out the chair to sit, I blurt out “Why are you looking for me?”  He remains standing and replies ” When you got out of your car you slammed your door into my new Beamer and put a ding in my door.  Either you or your insurance company will be paying to have it repaired.”

Crap, I should have kept my mouth shut.

A Worthy Point of View

I found this gem of wisdom stored away in a file in my computer.  The file’s name is “Stuff”.  It’s been around for years, so long in fact that I had forgotten what was in it.  I don’t know who wrote it and I have never shared it with anyone.  I typed it into a Word Doc and saved it because I very much agree with it.  Today I found it and decided it was well worth putting in a blog post.

We could learn a lot from crayons… Some are sharp;
some are pretty; and some are dull. Some have weird names; and all are different colours;

but they all have to live in the same box.
