About Iris

Hi!  Thank you for stopping by.

self

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………

My name is Iris and I love to wander.

I like road trips and taking pictures.

I’m not able to walk much so my travels are on 4 wheels.  2015, 16 and so far 2017 have not seen much travel due to health issues, so I will be working on getting mobile.

Happy Wandering,

Iris  🙂

  1. Iris, what a fabulous idea for a blog! I’ll definitely be popping in from time to time to see all your latest wanders. Thanks so much for stopping by moi du toi photography and following. ♥

  2. Iris, thanks for stopping by and following my blog. I find your a-photo-a-day very interesting and inspiring! I am so happy to get to know you. Now I have something to look forward to everyday! 😉

  3. Like you Iris, I love wandering off the beaten path to find shops, natures beauty, interstate highways are good for speed, bad for seeing all of natures rare and hidden gems that people used to see all the time. I love finding these places off the beaten path and I look forward to reading and seeing more of what your eyes see and discover off the beaten path! Though you are a world traveler, I find you miss so much in just a 100 mile radius of home.
I am so glad you found my blog and liked my posts and started following my blog. Thank You, I am now following your blog.

    1. Thank you Mitchell, I am going to enjoy browsing/wandering through your blog, it looks very interesting. I like that you were Old Order Mennonite for quite a time, the Amish and Mennonite life has always intrigued me. Not the politics and religion as much as the plain and simple lifestyle. Nice to meet you. 🙂

      1. Iris, it is so nice to meet you as well, it is amazing all the good people and blogs out there that I never see, even though I do look as time permits, I am always so happy when people like you come to visit my blog and I find you through finding me! 🙂 LOL Thanks again I am still on your blog right now and found Ceenphotography.com,, you find so many things through other peoples eyes as i have through yours. ! Have a great week Iris!

  4. Hi Iris, thanks so much for stopping by my blog. Nice to meet a fellow military brat 🙂 Look forward to reading your posts!

  5. Comment: Hi Iris,

Amanda Lakey at http://hummingbirddreamsphotography.wordpress.com invited me to be part of a Virtual Blog Tour, which I agreed to and will be posting on Monday, June 30th. It is also my turn to extend an invitation to one or more people who’s work I’d like to introduce my readers/followers to. There are four questions to answer and you can also add your photos to the post. Here is a link to previous VBTs if you want to check it out before giving me an answer.

      1. I’m not a writer either. I was asked to do it for photography and I so adore your eye for photography and the personality you have. You were the first person of I thought of for this. I totally understand if you don’t want to participate, but I sure would appreciate if you did.

      2. I have looked at the link you left for me, My hubby has a saying, “suck it up, buttercup” so I will do it. Thanks again for thinking of me. This will help me grow.

  6. Thank you for following my blog! Great concept; looking forward to seeing where your lens takes ya! We are birds of the same feather – Army brat, entirely raised abroad, then ‘wife’ to a ODS/OIF soldier – so I’m not too good at staying still either. 32 states on my travel log, so you’re doing better than me 🙂

  7. First, thank you so much for visiting The Last Half, and for the Like on my post 🙂 .

Second, I’m glad it brought me to you. I Follow very few blogs–fewer than the fingers of two standardly-digited terran primate hands–because I am not a speed reader (my mind wanders off on tangents) and am a compulsive reader. There is just not enough time to read every post of every superb and talented blogger out there, and it frustrates the OCD in me.

But–have so enjoyed your photos this morning–did not stop to Like every one liked–and will enjoy travelling vicariously with you (have done two cross-country trips on my own 🙂 ). Plus, your blog has no reams of text (unlike my own blog, and unlike this comment…oh, dear).

Thus, am now another happy groupie in your camp.

  8. Hello Iris,
Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoy your blog. Hope to see more of those interesting photos a day from you. Greetings Jos

  9. Hi there! Thanks for stopping by and looking at my blog! If you have any suggestions, requests or travel questions just let me know! I’m on my way over to your blog to see what you are up to! Enjoy blogging! CadyLuckLeedy

  10. Thanks for visit and comment in my blog. For your information, there actually near hundred of coffee beans variety in Indonesia while only seven or ten of those beans shipped and landed as cup of coffee in your local Starbuck in United States. Pity is it.
I think you understand as you ever lived in Ecuador and taste how superior those latin coffee. Mine favorite is Colombia coffee.

  11. Good Morning Iris,
Thank you for the “Likes” and for following Renaissance Musings (RM). I fully understand “wandering” and day trips. RM Category “Bucket List” captures some of my wanderings, and if you scan my Home page, you will see that I have several Bucket List Items on the schedule. I look forward to “wandering” through your postings,

    Merlin

  12. Hello, Iris! Thanks for coming over. Any friend of M-R’s….

I’m looking forward to seeing the places you go but not looking forward to the inevitable envy this (for now) non-wandering wanderer will suffer. 🙂

  13. Hello! I have to say, I’m not a great traveller but my husband is and he’s dragged me to a lot of places. I’ve travelled in the US a bit and loved all the places I’ve been. I think Death Valley was my favourite, but everywhere we went was beautiful and the people were really friendly.

  14. Iris, this is incredible! Two bloggers (not knowing one another) nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award on 11/4, the same day. I just noticed this while making this comment to tell you. So I’m not expecting you to accept. If you’d like to view the post, it’s on my site under Awards on the menu. http://cerobinsonauthor.com. Thank you for following my blog. I really enjoy your posts and I’ll be back to read more!

  15. Iris, I just wanted to thank you again, I cannot for the life of me get “Oyster Dressing” out of my mind or out of my taste buds now! Actually this week I am picking up a couple pints of West Coast Oysters and having ready for Thanksgiving day! Since i have to watch sugars, I am roasting two cornish hens and possibly a roasting hen (who knows possibly a turkey i have several in the deep freeze and am making Oyster Dressing for them all. LOL I am just happy to meet another person that loves it as much as I do! You are right most people turn up their noses, thats OK there is even more for me that way. 🙂
