In 1959 Leavenworth, Washington was a dying logging town. Through the vision of two Seattle business men, Leavenworth slowly transformed into a Bavarian village during the 1960’s and 1970’s. As part of the transformation, Leavenworth began holding festivals such at Art Fest, Maifest, the Autumn Leaf Festival and the very popular Christmas Lighting Ceremony.
