Friday Fictioneers
I can remember clearly the exact minute that started this new life as a widow.
Sunshine was streaming through the living room window. I could feel warmth on my leg. The sky was a hazy blue. It could have been a beautiful late spring day, but the naked tree limbs unmasked the truth. It was the middle of January. For a split second I was in a different place, a different time. For the smallest portion of a second I felt young again.
The naked tree limbs brought me back to reality. My heart ached. Then the sobbing started again.
