Six Word Saturday: Rock Buildings, Rock Flowers, Rock On

Rock Buildings, Rock Flowers, Rock On

Hubby and I like to take a sunrise drive on Saturday mornings.  He makes us coffee and fills our travel mugs, and off we go.  This morning we decided to stay in town and explore side streets we usually don’t go down.  I’m so happy we did because we found the most wonderful old buildings, one for sure was built in 1932 and we think the other was probably the same year, give or take a year or two. Please enjoy the art on the buildings below.

  1. I love stone buildings. They are so primitive and yet demonstrate human ingenuity. I always dreamed of owning a stone house. Amazing how they fit the stones together so creatively. Here is something cool done with rocks that you might enjoy.

The “Colored Peoples Old Folks Home” in my book was a huge stone building. Fascinating.

  2. I love stonework like this, and the people who are obsessed with the stuff. They’re like blacksmiths, a breed apart. These are amazing constructs, and ill bet the same man built both of them. What a great find!
